Stop Your Dog Barking!
I am not considering using a shock collar. Even if they work, I don’t think it’s humane. Also, the puppy is about 8 months old now.
A funny video of our dog, Daisy, howling when the phone rings. She has recently had 8 puppies! – for pictures, video and information go to daisyspuppies.googlepages.com
i’ve already talked to them several times and they just keep saying they’ll do what they can but it’s been almost three months and i haven’t had a full nights rest since,i called the humane society to ask what i can do in this situation and they said they will send a citation but meanwhile it’s still barking all night long and on and off throughout the day,it’s gotten to the point where i have to rent a hotel room a few nights a week so i can get any sleep
I want to know because my dog is afraid of squeaky toys and bouncy balls. Please tell me how to get him unafraid of toys.
My dog barks at any new strange dog that she can see. She won’t bark at all if she knows the dog or can’t see the new dog.
She doesn’t bark aggressively but nevertheless she barks until she goes to smell the new dog and after that, the new dog becomes one that she knows and she never barks at him/her again.
However, sometimes if it’s a very big dog, she barks and goes up to him/her but she’s too afraid to go near and smell him/her so she will keep barking back and forth at him/her. She absolutely will not stop barking until she knows the new dog.
I’ve tried suddenly getting her attention with a can of rocks or something like that. Didn’t work. Got her attention for like 3 seconds and she didn’t care about the sound anymore.
Tried to tell her to be quiet and when she does, give her a treat. She will be quiet and the moment I give her a treat for her quietness and she finishes swallowing it. She goes back to barking.
I’m going to try spraying water on her next. But the problem is she was a shy dog when I got her and she refused to go up to any dogs at all to say hi. Now she does say hi enthusiastically to every dog but while barking. I can tell she’s not aggressive because there is no growling, she goes over to lick the dogs face, and she lies down submissively almost all the time. Her tail is wagging frantically right when she goes.
I’m afraid when I spray her, her tail will go between her legs and it will completely discourage her from meeting and playing with new dogs.
I have a bark collar that sprays citronella when he barks. The problem is he now emits a higher pitched bark that doesn’t get picked up by the collar and is even MORE annoying than the original bark. He’s a sweet dog, but he barks at passing people, cars, dogs, all noises inside and outside of the house. He’s fixed and not aggressive at all. I’m at my wit’s end. Please help. Thank you.
I would like to get the neightbors dog to stop barking. these people are not open to training the dog since we have asked and they are negligent. before i sue or call animal control, which sounds like a good revenge but complicated, i would rather handle the matter myself.
I have taken to throwing water on the dog over the fence everytime it barks. that worked on one dog but this other one form another neighbor is too far for me to get it wet. Besides, i might hit my neighbor by accident and there might be some more trouble than i want at this time.
What are some good ways other than water training to quiet a dog? I thought about dog whistles. Would blowing on it hard every time the dog barks make such a high pitched horrible sound that the dog would stop barking for fear of that sound? thanks.
thanks for the responses. however, i have already spoken to the neighbor and they dont do or do not know what to do about it. So now its war.
My dog barks alot and I can’t find a way to make him stop. Most times is just out of no where and he starts barking. Some other times I been told by my neighbors that they hear him barking all day when I’m at work. What can I do? I try training him but it’s not working. He’s 7 months old and the barking is just getting worst!
I dont mind her barking to warn me that someone is near the door, but I really want her to stop when I tell her to. For example, when I am expecting someone and I know who it is I tell her to stop and then she just barks lower and under her breath. As if she knows its bad, but she just cant help herself. I have tried the whole spray her with water thing. That didnt work. It’s like she cant make the correlation between barking and bad behavior. Please help.
