I might be purchasing a Sheltie soon and I live in an apartment. However I do know that Sheltie’s are known for barking. I was considering buy the Innotek No-Bark Collar to keep him quiet. I was just wondering if anyone has used this product. Also, I want to know if anyone has ever worn it to try the shock to because I really feel bad for shocking a dog. Or if anyone knows any really good techniques to stop a dog from barking.
Do shock collars for dogs work? I was just wondering are there any alteratives to shock collars. I have called a few personal trainers, and one suggested this to me (collar) I would really hate to use it, but we are getting ready to move to an apartment and my dog has separation aniety and barks when we are gone. He is a pit bull 9 months old and his name is Scrappy. If you have any alteratives then please let me know, you can also e-mail me, my e-mail is in my profile~ Thanks
I just adopted the sweetest dog from the shelter. He’s ten months old and is very well behaved, except for his excessive barking. I know I’ve only had him for a week but I’m wondering if the problem will go away… I’ve tried squirting him with a squirt gun (he just barks more and wants to play) and ignoring him… neither works. I live in an apartment so this is a major problem. If he doesn’t stop barking I’ll either have to give him up or move out, neither of which I want to do.
I am wanting to buy a Yorkie but I live in an apartment… is this okay? I want to give it a good home, does anyone have any experience with this?
Also, do they bark a lot? If they do, how do you train them not to? Bark collar?
Thanks in advance!
I have a 50lb dog and she howls and whines if we leave her alone (and we live in an apartment complex so its even worse). So which is better, shock or noise? I would rather get a noise collar for her, but if shock is better then I guess we can go for that. Also, my dog is very fluffy (shes a husky mix) so will that effect either one?
jesus christ ppl. when my gf and i go to work we leave her at someones house who has a big yard that she runs around in and plays with other dogs. but we cant do that any more, so we need to leave her in our place. and when we get home we play and play and play with her. so back off of the get rid of her bs. just answer the friggin question, if i wanted an oppinion i would have asked.
I have a 1 year old pug and we live in an apartment. We just got construction done on ALL of the apartments and went from enclosed balconies to ones with bars. Now he sees everyone walkin by, and while he LOVES anybody he comes into contact with, he now barks at them passing by and anything unfamiliar. He was not a barker when he was younger and I would like to learn to stop his barking so we don’t receive any complaints and so I do not have to keep him from the balcony. Help!
We live in an apartment complex and my rat terrier constantly barks. He barks when the neighbors door gets knocked on or when the air condionter turns on and off.Its just ridiculous. However,I love my pups and although their barking is out of control I dont want to use a shock collar.I have always thought it was in humane to do that.Training him is out of the question he is just set in his ways.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you!

I live in an apartment complex, and this lady just bought a chihuahua and he’s always barking at night, now my dog is picking up the habit. Usually, when I’m on the phone with my boyfriend he pulls the blinds down with his paws and if he sees something outside he starts barking super loud. Obviously, I’m annoyed by it, because I’m trying to have a conversation with someone. I’ve tried yelling "No" and "stop" and Taking him away from the window. it doesn’t work. any tips? he’s about a year old
