Shock collar, ultrasonic collar, citronella collar?? My dogs go bananas as soon as I let them out in the back yard to do their business. They bark at the fence even though nothing’s there. What can I do to stop this? They are waking the neighbors.

Well, i’ve had my chihuahua, Candy, for about 2 years now, and every single day, it’s the same thing, she sees our 6-month old Golden Retriever, she barks, she sees our 8-week old Golden Retriever, she barks, she sees someone walking down the street, she barks……she even barks at the air.She shows her teeth to them and tries to snap, she occasionally bites
I’ve tried pretty much everything on her besides the shock collar to get her to stop, I love her very much and don’t want to take her to the shelter or put her down, so, how do I get her to stop?
By the way……she’s not really the "playful type" and like I said before, she barks at the air too…..

she’s also semi-territorial, she thinks she "owns" a sofa in the living room right next to the window, and she will bite anyone (except my mom, dad, and brother) if we get near it….she also defends her bed from our other dogs

In this daily dog training video, I am teaching my dog to bounce as he is heeling a long side of me and trying different toys and things to get the best result. I like all exercises to be spirited and the dog using his energy into the behavior. Off leash control is acquired and maintained on this video by using the ‘Sit Means Sit Collar’ which can be found at www.sitmeanssit.com Franchises available www.franchise.sitmeanssit.com

Everytime someone comes over to my house, my 5 yr old female pug barks insanely. The fur on her back and neck stand up and she looks terrified. This happens with anyone, she is fine if I visit a friend’s yard and sees the same people. She also does not like strangers in the park, store, etc. The funny thing is, she seems to like when people pet her, even the people she barks at. She’ll calm down and wag her tail while they pet her, then go right back to acting crazy. Whats up with this? What can I do to make her stop? She doesn’t seem agressive, and she has never bitten anyone or any other dog…in fact she seems to be quite happy to meet other dogs…mabe a little nervous at first. I just don’t understand it, I’ve had her since she was a puppy and shes a very pampered little girl, never been abused. Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Hello,

My neighbour’s dog is a fabulous German Shepherd/ Doberman cross. He is friendly, smart and playful.

The problem is that he barks like crazy when he is excited. He barks mostly when his owner is around, and there are other dogs around. (my dog is usually around when we are out in the yard)

The neighbour is trying to work with him by grabbing his colar when he barks, and giving him positive feedback when he stops. But the behaviour isn’t stopping – dog only stops barking when owner has his collar in hand.

My neighbour doesn’t want to resort to a shock collar or bark collar until it is apparent it is time for a last resort.

The dog is 3 or 4 years old, my neighbour adopted him a year ago. Can anyone offer suggestions on how we can stop this crazy barking?

Thanks in advance!

I have 2 dogs. The first one, a terrier, sleeps upstairs with me. The second, a doberman pup, sleeps down in the kitchen but every night I have to endure him whining for hours. How can I help him to settle down…he is worse than a child?

Okay so my gf and I have a 1 1/2 year old Pomeranian mix and he likes to bark nonstop. We leave the car and within 10 secs he likes to bark and will not stop even with several verbal cues. We take him to the dog park and he barks nonstop there as well. He doesn’t listen when told to come… We have worked with him on this issue and nothing we have done seems to work. He listens at home but if there is another person walking in front of our balcony he will bark as well. Ever since he was neutered this problem has been getting worse. Just wondering if anyone thinks that a bark collar is apropriate for him to help subside the barking. I know barking is a normal behavior for dogs, but when is enough? We definitely want him to learn when is enough…
