My dogs bark at everything, even my mom calling my name, or if someone they know (like my brother) walks in the door. I don’t want to get a collar that sprays them up the nose with orange juice. I’ve been spraying them with a spray bottle (w/water) which has calmed them down a bit. But it isn’t working enough, its giving my mom headach and she gets really ticked off ><; I need help
Anyone??? ….

Yes see they have two male coonhound pups but the littler one barks constantly my mom thinks its because has prob seeing but vet says hes fine. Mom’s boyfriend wants to use shock collar and I’ve given my reasons why not to use one but he wants more clear reasons or ways to stop the barking.

I’m sitting at this desk/using the computer.

If I’m in any other room in the house he’ll be quiet (unless he has to potty or something). If I sit at the computer he will bark. He seems to want me to hang out elsewhere. Lately I’ve been trying to do hw at school because of this.

I recently taught him "Quiet" and he’ll lie down and put his head down, but that wont last more than a few minutes.

I have a KONG toy, but I can only put easy stuff… if I pack it too tight or squeeze in a Milk Bone that won’t fall out after he throws it a few times then he’ll give up on it.

He is fixed too.

Thanks =)
Kevin7, don’t go around the dog section on Y?A saying "ask a vet" =(
Greedy for points.
Yeah, I make sure he’s walked before I get to work, and if my mom has walked him before I get to, I’ll either do it again or play catch for a while. or both

Ok, so I’m moving out of state within a few months and I have two dogs we have to take with us. My dog, Roxy, is a 13-15 lb chihuahua mix and she has some aggression/territorial issues. She growls at most people other than me and my mom. Since she’s a small dog, and she has some separation anxiety, I figured I’d take her in the cabin with me on the flight across the country (plus I’d be just to worried about her if she wasn’t with me). So she’d probably be growling and maybe barking at strangers at the airport and on the plain. She also might be whining because she was nervous. I would try to train her but she’s very stubborn and I don’t know if I can train her within a couple months. So does anyone know any way to make her stop growling for at least 5 hours? Serious answers please, people. Thanks! :)

My dog Emma is a MaltiPoo. She turned one on Sunday. She chews literally EVERYTHING. Even the sheets on my moms bed! *pause* sorry, I just had to get her from getting in my sisters garbage.
We talked about putting her in a cage at night and when we aren’t home. But, I know she wouldn’t stop barking. Tonight, she got into a bottle of colonipin. my mom called an emergency vet, who told us to call ASPCA. and they said monitor her for 4-6 hours. Which means up all night until 7 am.
I really need to get her to stop chewing. She’s put me through to many scares. I cant even talk right now or I will hysterically cry. I am 13. Please help! Again, when I say she chews EVERYTHING. I mean EVERYTHING. We were all in our rooms, when she GOT UP ON THE KITCHEN TABLE AND DUG IN MY MOMS PURSE TO GET PILLS. Please what should I do. ):

My dog, Grayson, is a little over a year old. He is a toy-fox terrier, and we got him from a breeder when he was just 8 weeks old. The breeder kept them in terrible condition and he would always have to fight for food, so he has marks and scars on his head. He was super skinny. We fattened him up so to speak and hes been living a good life. But he took on a complete attachment to me, he loooves me, every time he sees me he will start jumping and have a smile on his face(well, it looks like a smile) but hes also gotten verrry aggressive to anybody that comes close to me.

For example, my sister just tried to give me a hug. Grayson thought it was aggressive and jumped up and bit her. He also bit my mom for giving me my dinner plate, and my dad for messing with my hair. I dont know how to make him stop! so far evertyime hes bitten us, we would put him in the cage. my mom is extremely aggressive to him when she punishes him, she spanks him HARD. and we always get into fights because i tell her she cant hit him like that, ive threatened to call the animal shelter before. My dad plays rough with him to wear he barks crazily.

Were not going to put him down, that is NOT an option, so dont even mention it please. Ive made my mom promise to not handle him like that anymore, and my dad wont play like that with him anymore, but i think he will still bite, because hes protective over me. And a trainer is around 80$ and we just dont have that right now. Does anyone have any ideas on how to cure this simple problem? Thanks in advance!!!!

Actually, they are just puppies. There is a 9 month old female Sheltie (Shetland Sheepdog) and a 6 month old male Sheltie. Our neighbor complained about them barking and called animal control so we’ve been forced to keep them indoors. That is fine right now ’cause we have a foot of snow but it would be nice to let them spend more time in there large fenced in area once it warms up. It’s not like they are just barking to bark or because they are unhappy. They bark at the squirrels which heavily populate our backyard and the occasional deer. They also bark at our cats! It’s the younger male who barks the most and he barks also when he is excited like on our walks. Anyone who knows anything about Shelties will admit that although they are a beautiful, extremely intelligent breed that they can tend to be barkers! My Mom wants to have the little guy de-barked or try a "shocking" collar! He is already a little shy and I’m afraid this would traumatize him for life. Any suggestions?
Also, what are the laws about dogs barking during the day? They make much less noise than the construction going on a few houses down! We live in Michigan in a small, mostly summer home town (but our next door neighbors have to be year rounders, of course!) that is not really a subdivision but far from the country.

He’s a male Papillion named Embry. If you get up, make a loud noise, or even try to pick him up sometimes, he barks and barks and barks. My mom won’t let us hit him because he’s a rescue and he was abused. He’s usually scared of everybody besides my mom. Is there any way we can make him stop barking without hitting him?

my mom has a toy Yorkshire and it will bark at anything outside. our couch is my a big window and she will st on top of that and look out the window. we cant move the couch because my mom says its to big to go anywhere. we have tried squirt bottles. but when we use that she jumps off the couch starts running around and barks at the bottle… Its also hard to take her and move her from the situation because she runs up and down and all around so you cant catch her. if i do catch her she barks at me and wont settle. with MY dog he will bark once and i will say stop and he does but lucy keeps going . What other ways can i try to get her to stop barking sooo much? i dont mind some barking but she just keeps barking and barking, it takes her forever to settle down. What do i do???
i dont know if she is to small for a bark collar she is 6 pounds

I bought a bark collar and that seemed to mean, what is the best not harsh way to have him stop.
Well my parents are divorced my mom is a fly attendent, when im at my dads house hes in his crate sometimes my sister will go over there. and my dog is so sweet
