my dog is a very protective breed but he doesnt seem to like men 13 and older at all i invited my friend over he is 13 and my dog started to bark at him then when my sisters friends and boyfriend came over my dog tried to bite him and every time my neighbor goes in the yard on work on his garden all we can hear is my dog barking and when my neighbors daughter went out side and blew bubbles he barked at her too then we went to the park and hebarked at everyone then my friend thought it was a good idea to let him off the leash and he chased some guy and barked at him tryed to bite him and now no guys can come to my house cause of my dog i read an article about his breed and it said they dont bark without a reason bu i dont wanna belive it cause of my dog what cani do to stop his barking habit?
at night he always sleeps with me and he doesn’t bark at night just when he goes out side to play he always bark at the neighbors
both the neighbor’s next to my house have dogs, and they can’t control the damn dogs to stop making noise, they absolutely don’t care, im going crazy, and so does my GF who lives with me, she often fights me because of it, a little noise happens and one dog begin bark, and all dogs begin bark, i even thought about poisoning the dogs but there are too many of them, five in total
i saw a add about ultrasonic bark control, its suppose to make a annoying noise that can only be heard by the dog every time the dog bark and it keeps them quiet
anyone ever tried this? how effective is it?
Anyone know how I can train my dog not to bark whenever a neighbor is walking to their house? Vlog
So my 2 year old Aussie/Corgi is an amazing dog and very sweet, except when I’m gone. When I come home from being gone for a couple of hours, I walk into a house that’s pretty much in shambles! I look on the floor and she has chewed up all kinds of things! She will take things from other rooms bring them in the living room (where the front door is) and just tear things up! I can’t even walk out to my car for a few minutes without her barking the and scratching at the door the entire time. I don’t like to put her in a crate because she will bark the ENTIRE time I’m gone. I use to live in an apartment and when I would leave I would put her in a crate. One day I came home and my next door neighbor put a note on my door telling me to make my dog stop barking/yapping because she did it the whole time I was gone. So when I started leaving her out while I was gone she would only bark for a few minutes but tear up everything she could reach. Needless to say I just need some help on fixing the chewing and barking problem!!! Please help me someone!!!
Hi,
I need a quick solution to my dog’s barking. We just got her and we love her. We’re afraid our neighbor will complain because every time she hears a movement from across the hall, she incessantly barks.
I know training is the best way around it but I need a quick solution. We walk her throughout the day and i am also trying to get her to sit and other commands.
I will absolutely NOT use any shocking collars, sorry. If anyone has any suggestions, please help me out.
Thank you
I know this has been asked a lot but my scenario makes the decision a bit more complicated.
We recently moved to a new apartment with our Lhasa and Shih Tzu. They are well behaved, does the occasional barking when someone’s at the door that they don’t know.
I was notified by our neighbor that our dog (I know its the Lhasa, she’s more vocal than the Shih Tzu) was barking during the day. We never had this problem at our old apartment. My cousin did mention that our neighbor’s 7 year old kid likes to peek through our windows which irritates our dogs hence the barking. I’ve witnessed him doing that when we were moving in. I’ve spoken with his mother about the situation and hoping that it will resolve the issue but its hard to train a dog to not back when its being taunted.
Would you consider using a bark collar when the dogs are home alone? I would have never considered using one before but we’ve also never been approach by anyone about our dogs barking.
She is a four pound long hair chihuaha/rat terrier mix about eight months old now.
It is getting absolutely ridiculous. I live in an apartment complex, and every time a neighbor talks outside, shuts their door loudly, and closes their car door, she barks as loudly as possible to let us know.
I always tell her no, and hold her and pet her so she will calm down, but it doesn’t work as well as it used to. I am getting at my wits end here!
Any real advice would be great. Thanks!
Will a shock collar help my her to quit?
She keeps running back and forth barking at my neighbor’s dog, but the neighbor’s dog doesn’t do anything!
My bedroom backs up to my neighbor’s back yard. Instead of my neighbor’s taking their dog out for a walk every morning they let him out in the backyard at 5 am and he barks all morning. I have tried speaking with them but they have a no-care-attitude. I have tried being cordial but that did not work and my patience is running out. I need my sleep. Any ideas would be helpful…

Actually, they are just puppies. There is a 9 month old female Sheltie (Shetland Sheepdog) and a 6 month old male Sheltie. Our neighbor complained about them barking and called animal control so we’ve been forced to keep them indoors. That is fine right now ’cause we have a foot of snow but it would be nice to let them spend more time in there large fenced in area once it warms up. It’s not like they are just barking to bark or because they are unhappy. They bark at the squirrels which heavily populate our backyard and the occasional deer. They also bark at our cats! It’s the younger male who barks the most and he barks also when he is excited like on our walks. Anyone who knows anything about Shelties will admit that although they are a beautiful, extremely intelligent breed that they can tend to be barkers! My Mom wants to have the little guy de-barked or try a "shocking" collar! He is already a little shy and I’m afraid this would traumatize him for life. Any suggestions?
Also, what are the laws about dogs barking during the day? They make much less noise than the construction going on a few houses down! We live in Michigan in a small, mostly summer home town (but our next door neighbors have to be year rounders, of course!) that is not really a subdivision but far from the country.
