I have an electric one and it works fine but when I take it off either of my two dogs, they will be silent for a couple of days but then they start barking again. I don’t like to be the AHOLE neighbor with the dogs that disturbs people, and it bothers me, so I have 0 tolerance for barking unless they are inside and I am playing with them
Do the spray ones work better? If I don’t find a solution soon I just may keep it on permanently.
We have lived in a corner house for the last 3 years with our 2 small dogs. The last 6 weeks 1 neighbor & only 1 neighbor called the police over 20x’s complaining of barking (never before). PD has sat outside our yard on most visits & haven’t heard the dogs. The officiers agree that our dogs don’t bark excessively. They bark when people walk by and when HER cat is on the fence. We checked with the 4 other homes whose yards border ours, none had issues. Some didn’t know we have dogs! We bought a shock barking collar for the one who barks the most irritating (smallest collar made & to big); put up a bamboo fence to keep her cat off the common fence. FYI, this neighbor has asked us keep our grandson quiet one weekend cause they were sleeping in 0830 a; asked us to turn off our lighted trees; and asked us to change the time our pool filter runs; we have complied. We are good neighbors. If she would have asked we would have done something but she chose the police. Do we have rights?
It started when our neighbor had a dog who keeps on howling at night the dog is now gone but our dogs seemed to developed that habit.
What is WRONG with him?

Why does my pyromaniac neighbor have a possessed dog?
I have 2 dogs. They are Yorkshire Terriers. Every time I let my dogs outside to use the bathroom or to just play outside, whenever someone walks by my house or my neighbor goes outside they start barking crazily tell they can’t hear them anymore. I try to yell at them to stop but they just won’t listen. How do i get them to stop barking at people walking by my house or neighbor. Any type of website would be extremely helpful. My neighbor’s dog barks day and night. Police won’t help and animal control told me that I have to eventually go to court to stop neighbor’s dog’s barking. I’d rather purchase a device that can stop the dog’s bark.
A bit ago some new people moved in and low and behold they threw there dog in the back yard during the day. I am waiting to see how it turns out because I went to animal control to inform them of this. It is considered a quality of life issue. I was told they would send them a letter and inform them of there dog barking and they had too week before I could file a complain. I went and knock on the door and say your dogs barking the response I got was the son was coming to take the dog that was five days ago. They carry the dog inside the house at about 9 pm so others wont also complain which tells me they must have had this problem before but there is no record showing at animal control. The dam thing barks through out the day and only when people are going to there cars or going up to the apt build on the side of the house. The house is surrounded by apts so this doesn’t make since to me. Second of all they lied about the son coming to get the dog. The house is a rental.
Don’t get me wrong I love dogs always have wouldn’t hurt one either but people are very difficult. I try to use tact and be a nice person by going up to the neighbor and say hay your dogs barking but for some reason they think it is ok . They just moved in here and they are the only one with a dog in the back yard no other house close has one do they get it or what.
Also just found out the city I have has law such as 6.16.110Dog noise-permitting prohibited and 6.16.120 which both say no person shall tie up lock up or enclose and leave unattended any dog under his control within any house garage or similar structure by reason of which the dog barks howls or whines or makes other loud and unusual noises so as to annoy and become offensive t the neighborhood or persons residing immediately surrounding the habitation of the same (Prior code 5610.24)

We have a neighbor whose big dog barks loudly across the neighborhood from 4pm to late at night. Does anyone know what my legal rights are? Or what steps I could take with local law enforcment to have this guy stop his dog barking?
I have 2 shetland sheepdogs (shelties). the boy is a puppy and the girl is grown. whenever we let them outside to do their business, the girl always runs to the fence and barks at the neighbor dogs. is there a way we can maybe block the fence from contact with the other dogs? my family is thinking about getting their vocal chords pulled but im not for it. plz help
