i bought a petsafe bark collar for my 3 year old beagle yesterday and it worked great immediately. (don’t tell me it’s cruel and stuff; i’ve gotten a lot of complaints from neighbors and i heard its completely humane and works well)
anyway, it’s his third day wearing it and i noticed he’s kind of "testing" the collar. he’s keeps whining and will bark quietly a few times.
has this happened with your dogs?

I am crate training my two month old puppy i put him in and he goes right to sleep but around three in the morning he will start howling and barking again so i take him out to go potty and bring him back in and put him in the crate. But he wont stop howling and crying i know he needs to go every three hours but when i put him back in his crate he wont stop i have tried everything the clock a warm water bottle everything but it just wont work. I have hardly got any sleep at all and i know my neighbors are getting fed up with it to. I am thinking about getting a bark collar but dont want to hurt him is it safe to get one or do they just harm the puppy?

My dog is well trained!!! bit.ly This link provided me with the best dog training program ever! Check this out!

My dog stays mostly outside, and she barks at every car, every person, and absolutely everything. I have gotten a noise complaint from our neighbors, and I have about two weeks to improve. I was wondering about the effectiveness of a ultrasonic collar. It is supposed to produce a high frequency sound that irritates the dog to make it stop barking. I would never use a shock collar on my dog, I think it is cruel and unnecessary. I would like to eventually only have to tell her to stop barking, but for now, I don’t have enough time to work with her. Like I said, I don’t want to hurt her with a shock collar. I also have a limited budget. Thank you for your opinions/thoughts/suggestions!

We have a golden retriever that barks every day nonstop. The neighbors probably hate us by now. I try to give her attention but that doesn’t seem to work too well. Any ideas?

so my female boxer, Remy, wont shut the F!@# up. She barks nonstop. From the moment i put her outside. It is so cosistent that i cant consentrate on anything. We have even gotten complaints from the neighbors. I have another dog as well, she is fine. My dogs are outside all day, ( i work 9-5) , they come in when i get home. I bought a shock coller for remy, but as soon as i take it off she starts up barking again. She has had it on for two weekls straight, i took it off last night and with in an hour the barking started, is it bad to constantly leave the coller on? I really dont know what else to do.
FYI I have tried to put the collar on to see its effect. I am not asking to be judged. I am asking for some advice. I love remy and i dont want to hurt her, but i also dont like the nasty notes my neighbors leave on my door….I cant leave remy in the house. she has destroyed a tv stand and a 00 dollar couch. she is the sweetest little girl, i just want her to stop barking. i am afraid the neighbors might try to do something cruel when i am not home. leaving her in the house is not an option because then i would have to crate her and i think that is more cruel than the shock collar. she has a big fenced in back yard with 2 large dog houses, plenty of food and water and plenty of love and care.

WE HAVE A 2YR. OLD PAPILLON AND ALL SHE DOES IS BRAK, AT BUGS, BIRDS PEOPLE, ANY NOISE , YOU NAME IT SHE BARKS. IT IS ANNOYING ME AND OUR NEIGHBORS. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO STOP HER? DO "NO BARK" COLLARS REALLY WORK?

Do these things actually work? My dog barks at nothing most of the time and the neighbors are pissed. I wont use a shock or spay collar, so I was wondering if these things really work? And please, no smart ass comments about take ur dog in and train ur dog cuz he doesn’t like to come in and I’ve tried to reward him when he’s quiet. He just likes to bark.

I have a 8 month old boxer. I’m hoping to correct this behavior before it’s a habit. I know, naturally, he wants to protect me and his yard, which is wonderful, but he’s going overboard. The neighbors are going to start hating us! I’d like to teach him that 1 or 2 barks are ok, but then to trust that I can handle it from there. Suggestions?

Serious answers only! All morons will be reported!

My dog, whom I love, barks all night when I’m at work. I tried everything, even a hired trainer to stop him from barking (he’s a Shih Tzu). He also scratched alot, and in a small apartment that makes noise enough to equal the barking for the neighbors.

So now he’s in a cage at night, and has a shock collar (Yes I’ve worn it myself, I feel terrible using it but its a last resort). The problem is I come home to barking a lot. I’ve tried trimming the hair down to almost a shave around his neck, and tightening the collar, but short of strangling him it doesn’t seem to work.

The battery is fine, and I realize if there’s slippage it won’t work but does anyone have a different solution or a way to fix this I’m just to stupid to see? Thanks – Josh
