She doesn’t when a stranger comes to the door – then she just barks which is natural – but any one familiar (good friends as well which she regards as her pack) she howls which is really ear piercing and living in inner city must really annoy the neighbours. We have tried ignoring it – yelling – putting her out the back, but nothing stops her. Can anyone help?
It might be a stupid question but I’m a first time dog owner and my one year old pointer gave birth recently to 4 pups 3 of which died, she is still breast feeding the one pup, im worried if she barks with the shock collar while baby is there it will probably shock the baby, I have however considered the sonic sound collars but I just cant see that working with my dog, shes stubborn as hell!
Jeezzzz ok just so you know, she got pregnant because my stupid neighbour doesnt contain her dog he just roams the streets, o I’m abroad where thats ‘normal’ aparently, but mine was out back in her little house and he just helps himself but i cant watch 24/7 and by the time we got her the kennel the deed was done, so im not lookin for people to tell me how irresponsable i am i take her for walks like 3 times a day she loves them so much and feed her etc spend lots of time with her and shes even comfortable with me holding baby, all i want to do is stop that crazy barking in the middle of the night, i throw water and she stops for like 30 mins then i yell and say STOP thats even less time Id say….10 mins and she starts. She barks at every sound thinking it some kind of threat!I cnt stop neighbours from coming home so she stays quiet!! Anyway i love her to bits but the problem isnt really me its my dad threatening to get rid of her because of his sleepless nights 
I want to train my dog to stop barking, but what effect will sonic or ultrasonic trainers have on the neighbours pooch? Don’t want to create issues for them while solving my own!

I haven’t posted this dog before because these neighbours told me 19 months ago that their dog barks all the time because it has a skin condition. So I tried to ignore the barking that went on day and night. But they have gone away this weekend and the dog is outside and barking on and off every few minutes day and night. If they can go away for the weekend and get a break from the constant barking, then what gives them the right to subject others to put up with the barking?
Without harming it to badly? The neighbours don’t speak english and their dog keeps the whole suburb awake and scares the sh!t out of my chickens. The chickens attacked me as they try to escape.Is there a way to stop the dog from barking next door?
I have a Bassett Hound who wont stop barking she stands in the garden and constantly barks, and its annoying to us and the neighbours any ideas how I can stop her ….
we have to crate him otherwise he will rip up the house but even we didnt crate him one time, he still barked. i have tried everything people said on here. includings toys,kongs, food, water, music, tv, radio everything! but he still barks. and he barks very loud as well. its annoying the neighbours. i’m not buying a bark collar or muzzle, they are cruel and too expensive

he usually barks for 5 minutes very loudly and then stops. sometimes he’ll eat his food first and then start barking
i take him for walks everyday. i just came back from an hour long walk at the park and i needed to go shopping. i thought he would be too tired too bark so i was pretty sure. sure enough, i come home tom find him barking again

we live in flats and the windows are too high up anyway. and he’s in a crate as mentioned last time
we have a 4 month old beagle puppy, and she has only recently started barking every morning at about 5am. This has only started about 1 weeks ago, but she sleeps outside, and every morning without fail she barks constantly. at first we ignored her as this is what our vet told us to do, but it can go on for hours and over the weekend our neighbours complained. i don;t blame them…. it is quite annoying. we are not sure what to do now. any ideas.

I have 2 1/2 year olde english bulldogge who has a constant barking problem. She is a really super well behaved dog except for when she is in our back yard. We love to let her be out in the back yard during nice days so she can have some exercise and fresh air and to just enjoy the sun and all she does is bark bark bark bark bark, snarl snarl snarl, bark bark bark bark~~~!!!
We have really really nice neighbours who never really complain but there kind of old and the old mans wife is really sick and he said that she is driving his wife insane. They are very close neighbours to us and the only thing seperating us is a 6 foot chain link fence. He said that she can’t even go outside in his yard without her barking barking barking barking!!!
I tried a muzzle and she can drink, but than she can’t pant to release her heat. I tried a shock collar and it works while were around to shock her but after were gone to not do it….she goes at it again. I can’t take her to obidience because she is dog agressive somtimes.
Now don’t get me wrong…she may bark bark bark but she would never ever bite someone!! When she is in her house in the crate she does the same thing. If someone comes over she barks barks barks barks even if the kids run by the crate she will bark bark bark snap snarl growl but you let her out and she is 100% fine!! She does the same thing in the backyard When you let someone in she wags her stump 100 miles an hour and is the friendliest dog in the world, so maybe you could give me some suggestions that doesnt involve taking to obidience or training class because we have already wasted enough money on that!~

Ha ha you guys are all so retarded.. you all act like I am doing something wrong with my dog lol She gets plenty of walks every day minimum of 3 times a day, she is well played with, loved and she has been through a multitude of obidience training classes. Money is not an issue at all, but the teachers usually kick us out because they are poorly educated trainers that can’t handle a hyperactive dog agressive dog. She gets along with lots of dogs, she just has her quirks with other one.
I didn’t ask this question to get a bunch of people up in my case thinking they know more about dogs than I do, I just simply asked what other approaches I could possibly take. So please save the wasteful critical comments for someone who gives a shit! I don’t think its the lady’s fault at all and I don’t think it is my dogs fault. My neighbours are old and don’t want to feed my dog treats but I think I might try the tredmill thing and run her on the tred mill in the morning
