She’s about 10 months old and has recently begun barking at anything that moves outside the window and goes NUTS when I’m walking her past a fence with other dogs. She was so difficult to control I could barely hold onto her leash. A stern NO doesn’t work, and I will not scold her with any hitting. (Besides it just being cruel, she was a rescue and was beaten prior to getting her, so it’s not an option.) This is a new development (past two weeks or so) and I’m wondering if I can stop the barking. If it helps, she’s a mutt with German shepherd/Australian shepherd in her. Thanks a lot!
I do not want to be mean to the dog and would truly like to not be confrontational with the owner – but my wife and I are going nuts! The dog just barks and bark and barks (small dog, high pitch bark extremely annoying).
The neighbor lets the dog out early in the morning during the week. They let the dog out late. We hear it through the apartment wall as if it was in the next room.
What can be done? The owner was told and they said they would get bark collar. They did not (it has been months). They even have apologized for the barking – although are doing nothing. We want to keep a civil relationship, but cannot deal with the constant noise. We do not want to harm the dog but need quiet!
Help. PLEASE HELP!
I do not want want to hurt the dogs. We have a 2 family house and this is not a bark here or a bark there. That would be understandable. However the dogs bark constantly when they are home and not home. I can hear them tell them to shut up, but that is it. It does not work and the dogs continues to bark (the father is the only 1 that actually makes it stop).
I want to live in peace with my neighbor. If I say anything to the landlord, I think it will just cause an uncomfortable home environment.

The options are:
1. Shock collar
2. debark your dog (cut the vocal chords)
3. Euthanize the dog
My neighbor is threatening to to sue me in court. Which option would you chose.
I don’t work so I am at home all day. This 62 year old woman is complaining that my dog barks and I only have her outside for 3 hours in the morning to eat her kibble and drink water and go potty. I think the woman is nuts.

Our three month old puppy will not learn to stop biting us. At first he just nipped, now he is biting HARD. We socialize him with other dogs and people and he is usually friendly with them. We have plenty of toys for him to chew as he’s teething (kongs etc.), we have tried diverting his biting with toys, ignoring him, telling him to quit it, spritzing him with water when he bites, freezing and saying "Ow" or yipping when he bites…. are there any other ideas out there? His little bites can hurt! He left his litter after two months, so I know he’s had appropriate play time with other puppies. I’m trying to be firm in his training but it’s driving me nuts and he’s such a sweet puppy at all other times!

Our dog is an australian and half german? (got her from the shelter). She’s extremely hyperactive and does chew through the lesser toys. Loves the kongs, ropes, bones, and this super XL plush jack toy. We keep around 10 or so toys out and play with her several times a day, she’s goes nuts in a large space full of wild vegetation / hideaways, . but alas, not enough! She still tends to have those tear up the flower bed moments! eek and still loves to bark at the neighbors, who look down on part of our property, their voices perhaps become distracting. Toy suggestions please?
Would love to get her a maze she can crawl through or a tetherball stand for dogs? (does this exist), or other unique extremely interactive toys besides the basic ones at your local petsmart.

okay this is going to sound bad but here’s the basics:
I live at my parents half the time and the other half at my sisters. so I have a dog, named champ. he’s really bro’s dog, but bro lost his home so champ came to live with us, when I moved back home after my hard time I asked If i could keep champ as mah dog so I’d have a companion ect, well champ drives me nuts but he’s a great dog, just hates cats.
Anyway, I was over mah sister’s house from friday morning to Monday night, very late. well tuesday evening dad informed me champ was hurt, he was yipping uncontrolablly when Max (mother’s germanshepard) was playing with him. He mentioned that sunday night his paw was bleeding but it was all better now and not bleeding anymore. so i took my parents word for it.
well tonight, I get home, see champ not standing correctly on it( it wasnt bleeding), so i call him in the bath room to get him away from the others, I give him some attention and he decides to give me paw, well i take it and all sudden he yipps again. . . well his paw is sliced opened across the side(right side) of his main pad (I dont know the correct term for that) anyway, I am taking him to the vet tomorrow. . . but I’m not sure if he should have stiches or not. My mother doesnt think so (she’s a nurse and such) and says he’ll just chew the paw pad off. I was thinking could he get stiches and then we wrap it in a way he cant get to it? (those collars..OMG… he’d get in even MORE trouble).
so i dont know excatly what can be done for him. . . yes the vet will know best, but with me not being here half the time i really dont know how things are gonna work out.
i dont know how it happened, neither do my parents, sometimes we let the dogs run and the run all over our farm and all over the neighbors fields next to our farm. . .only way to stop this from happening is keep them from running, but then they tear up the house and bust out the house and end up going for hours and hours.
The cut is clean and doesnt look infected, so i’m happy that it looks "healthy" for a cut.
Any ideas on how to deal with this or suggestions of things to ask at the vets would be helpful. thanks.
Please dont be mad, I do take care of my animals, but I dont want to sound stupid and I’m bout in tears over not knowing how serious it was sooner. . . I really need to know what to ask the vet and care tips, i get all stupid when I’m upset/nevrous when my pets get injured.

I really need help! I have a Dauchie/Terrier mix (Maggie) That i have to leave outside when i go to work! She drives me and all my neighbors nuts! I can’t leave her in the house durring the day! I’ve tried shock collars (which i had to take off her cause it hurt her too bad) ive tried different training methods and now were trying the citronella collar! Which works OK but when it goes empty and i dont refill it in time she goes insane! I am looking for a premanant resolution to her barking besides (debarking) her! I cant afford the surgery! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I have a 7-month old male pit bull. He is the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen, but after my recent move he’s begun barking constantly when I’m gone. I give him enough exercise, attention, etc. My neighbors are total neurotics and scream at me even if he just barks once. I did have a dog sitter, but now that’s not possible for awhile.
Anyway, I’ve enrolled him in obedience traning but we don’t start still Saturday. What are some humane ways I can control his barking? I bought an electric bark collar, but I tried it on myself (I know, I’m nuts) and it hurt SO BAD. Not an option. I’ve heard that the sound and citronella collars don’t work well. So, I’m thinking about a muzzle, but how can I tell when I buy it if he will be able to drink with it on? What are some opinions on effectiveness, side effects, etc?
To reiterate, if I am at home he does not bark, I might have to prompt him once, then he stops. When I leave or he is on a leash, he’s a holy terror. HELP!
