In this daily dog training video, I am teaching my dog to bounce as he is heeling a long side of me and trying different toys and things to get the best result. I like all exercises to be spirited and the dog using his energy into the behavior. Is it alright for puppies (8 weeks and older) to play with older dog toys? Like those Kong toys, they do puppy ones specifically but would it be fine to just get the dog one?

I’m going to be a new puppy mama in 3 weeks, I’ve done lots of research, but I wanted to know what toys your dogs like. I already know about the kong, and yes I am getting one, are there any other really good ones that I should know about??? Thanks for all your help and suggestions! If you have any tips or advice on new puppies I would love to hear it!

My dog ALWAYS barks..now i have a pomeranian, so those are the type of dogs where when they are puppies u have to teach them not to bark otherwise they will bark ALL of the time when they grow up. My dog is a puppy..and yes i know that puppies usually bark and all that, but i’ve been trying to teach her not to bark; saying "no" firmly like that, but she thinks I’m playing and just ignores it…or if i say"no" she just barks even more…almost like she’s talking back….and she contantly barks. So is there any way that i can’t teach her not to bark???..i know that she is a puppy and she is playful and her mind hasn’t matured, but i dont want her to grow up thinking its all right to bark. So what are some successful tricks to help teach a dog not to bark???

My 9 month old puppy Zoe barks for no apparent reason. This morning at 6:30 a.m. she started barking. I looked out the window and saw nothing. She has 3 other sibblings to play with Bandit, Riley, and Bailey so I know she is not lonely. She is very friendly and tries to jump on me when I go out to play with her and feed her. Sometimes she starts at night with this nuisance barking and I am scared the neighbors are going to call the PD. I was told to try a collar that makes a sound that dogs can’t stand which will sound off whenever the dog barks or a shock collar. I would never use a shock collar but what about the collar that makes a noise when they bark?
Oh my puppies are Shih-tzu and Lhasa Apso mix

Actually, they are just puppies. There is a 9 month old female Sheltie (Shetland Sheepdog) and a 6 month old male Sheltie. Our neighbor complained about them barking and called animal control so we’ve been forced to keep them indoors. That is fine right now ’cause we have a foot of snow but it would be nice to let them spend more time in there large fenced in area once it warms up. It’s not like they are just barking to bark or because they are unhappy. They bark at the squirrels which heavily populate our backyard and the occasional deer. They also bark at our cats! It’s the younger male who barks the most and he barks also when he is excited like on our walks. Anyone who knows anything about Shelties will admit that although they are a beautiful, extremely intelligent breed that they can tend to be barkers! My Mom wants to have the little guy de-barked or try a "shocking" collar! He is already a little shy and I’m afraid this would traumatize him for life. Any suggestions?
Also, what are the laws about dogs barking during the day? They make much less noise than the construction going on a few houses down! We live in Michigan in a small, mostly summer home town (but our next door neighbors have to be year rounders, of course!) that is not really a subdivision but far from the country.
