Picture this.5 AM,alarm goes of.,So does 6 month old pup from her cage. When I finally come downstairs, she is hysterically barking.I never let her out first anymore, that way she doesn’t think her barking won.She finally shuts up as I pack my husbands lunch. But,I’ve stood in front of her and yelled "NO BARK"..I’ve calmly and firmly told her the same.I have a squirt bottle that works, but I need her NOT to bark when I am upstairs.I have a shock collar, but it’s still in the box..I’m trying to use that as a last resort.Seven weeks later of training classes(and she did pass),the morning bark continues. She does not continuosly bark all day or when outside..just at 5 AM.Any suggestions before I break and use the shock collar?
I have 2 dogs that bark at EVERYTHING! I feel like a shut in! I cant have the blinds or windows open cuz the dogs go crazy when people walk past the house. I dont want to get a shock collar but I’m loosing my mind. I have heard about the collars that give a high pitched sound with each bark, anyone know if they actually work?
I have a little dog who loves to bark and a friend gave me a shock collar to use. I have a teen boy who walks the dog for me and he said it is illegal to use a shock collar in the state of Arizona. I am wondering if this is true or not.
The collar is used for two weeks and then the dog will stop barking. The collar worked for my friend and now her dog never barks.
What do you know about this???
He barks constantly, unless he’s sleeping. Every little noise makes him bark, he barks out of the blue. I won’t even mention what he goes through when the door bell rings or when someone is in the house. I have 3 big dogs (2 labs and a foster boxer) so I can’t really let them "meet&greet" whoever is at the door. They’re big 80-90lbs dogs.
His behavior changed when we boarded him and his "baby brother" for a week. The dogs were so loud and aggressive when they came out of that PetsMart Hotel. We tried obedience training with my chocolate lab and didn’t work; treats & toys doesn’t care for; I spanked his rear – he doesn’t care for that; we got a shock-collar and he destroyed it. Please help! I love my dogs so much and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to solve this issue. Thank you !
He’s 2 1/2 years old, so he’s still young. The dog doesn’t care for bones or anything when there’s an "intruder" in the house. He just wants attention. The way he managed to ruin the shock collar – found it on the counter and chewed it.

My 11 month old lab barks at my neighbors whenever she sees them, and I can tell it really bothers them. They’re nice people so I would like to get her to stop but I would rather not resort to a shock collar. What other options do I have?
Because it is summer now, my 1 year old yorkie-poo barks at everything that goes by outside at night (cars, people, birds, etc.) We have tried closing the windows and doors, but then she just barks at nothing.
I do not want to get her a shock collar or anything like that. What else can i do?
i have 3 dogs and one shock collar and one collar that makes the loud noise. only the shock collar makes a difference but its not enough. my neighbour is still complaining. he states that we never do anything about it. it is at the point where one of us stays home all day… we take it in turns to be here and we dont leave them outside on there own. my next door neighbour has a maltese that is constantly barking yet we dont complain because we know it isnt easy to control dogs like that and he claims we are the only ones in the street with barking dogs! i dont know what to do anymore.. even if it isnt my dogs barking we will still get the blame
please dont judge me and assume i havent tried to train them. they have all been to an obedience school they have all had a trainer and it is costing me a fortune because as soon we get home and another dog barks none of the training means anything. my oldest dog is 4… this isnt something i have been trying a few months. its 4 years.
I have 3 shitzu dogs that live inside my house. it is nearly impossible to get a good nights sleep because they will randomly start barking for no reason late at night. I usually get woken up at least 3-4 times each night due to that. what are some methods that I can get them to stop barking? I am a bit concerned to use a "shock collar" because I have heard it can damage their skin?
My neighbors keep complaining about my Shih Tzu barking.
Now, they’ve said we’re required to make him wear a shock collar. I don’t like the idea of that at all, I think it’s cruel and I refuse to do that to my dog.
They shouldn’t be able to *make* me do anything to my puppy.
Is there any way out of this?
Thanks in advance. :]
