Hey I have a 2 year old boxer dog that loves to play with her toys. Most of them are pretty beat up by now and I instead of going to the pet shop and buying new ones, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on using household items for toys. Just take this into consideration…She IS a medium sized dog, so I don’t want something small enough that she might accidently choke on…
Thanks ![]()
What type of dog toys do you and your dogs like the best?
Do you allow all dog toys to be scattered amongst the house, freely chosen by the dog to be played? Or do you control the playtime?
Just curious …
I’m moving to a new townhome and the manager told me that if they get one complaint about barking the dog goes. My puppy doesn’t bark often, but of course he does sometimes, and I really don’t know if he barks when I’m not home. Is a bark collar cruel? Or how can I teach my dog that barking is not okay? When he barks I say "no" loudly and point at him but it seems like he thinks it’s a game and it gets him going more.
he usually only barks when he’s playing. Even if nobody is playing with him, he barks at his toys.

Issues with Citronella Bark collar?
I have two beagles who are constantly baying at one another (and squirrels, and cats, and toys). They are allowed to be outside during the day via a dog door because I can’t be home to let them out at lunch. I bought the petsafe citronella bark collar and have tried it on both of them with no avail! For some reason I cannot get the bark collar to go off. I have read the directions, and went through troubleshooting and everything should be fine. Could it be that the collar does not pick up the bay? Any advice you can provide would be great- I need them to stop barking during the day and I need to get my money’s worth out of these collars!
She hates to be left alone, even if my other dogs are around, she is pretty much a "human", she doens’t know she is a dog, and that’s very hard for her to accept. She is quite a problem, I always get complains. I’ve tried pretty much everything except for the shock collar, I don’t really like the idea of using that. She has a lot of toys.
Is there a solution for this, or she will never stop barking when left alone?
My dog never barks when I am home, so I always assumed she was also quiet when I was away. I’ve lived in a single unit house since I got her, so there wouldn’t have ever been a reason for anyone complain though. Recently, I moved into an apt. The unit beside me is vacant, but my landlord said that on multiple occassions, he has heard my dog bark when he enters the vacant unit. He said that the barking persists the entire time he’s in the unit, and will subside as he leaves. Obviously, he is unhappy about this (as am I, given that it could leave me homeless!) I know there are things I could do to decrease the likelihood of her barking–walking her longer in the mornings, leaving toys with treats for her while I’m gone, etc. BUT I need a quick fix, and something that is basically fail proof…soooo….what works?? She’s a rather large dog (around 65 lbs, size of a small boxer), so her bark is pretty loud when she does bark, and the landlord is threatening to terminate the lease if I don’t shut her up, so I need advice from people who know from experience please! thanks!
p.s. I’m on a budget,so let’s be financially reasonable, please!! ![]()

Hi, everyone. My dog continues to bark sporadically throughout the night. I’ve given him water, food, I always leave him to do his business outside before it’s time for him to come inside and go to sleep, but he continues to bark. I’ve even left him some toys to bite on and play with during the night, but he still barks. I want to know what exactly a Citronella collar does to make the dog stop barking. I’m not into striking the dog to make him stop barking so don’t suggest it.
Thank you.
